Terms & Conditions

OCS Sales & Service Terms and Conditions

1. Scope of Work

  • Site Survey: All quotations are based on the initial site survey. Any hidden structural issues (e.g., impenetrable walls, lack of power outlets) discovered during installation may incur additional costs.
  • Client Responsibilities: The client must provide a stable power source and, if remote viewing is required, a functional high-speed internet connection at the time of installation.

2. Payment Terms

  • Deposit: A 50% upfront deposit is required before equipment procurement and scheduling.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion of the physical installation and system demonstration.
  • Ownership: All equipment remains the property of OCS until the invoice is paid in full.

3. Equipment Warranty vs. Service Warranty

  • Hardware Warranty: CCTV cameras and DVRs/NVRs are covered by the Manufacturer’s Warranty (typically 1–2 years). We will assist with the RMA process, but labor costs for removing and reinstalling faulty equipment may apply after the initial grace period.
  • Service/Installation Warranty: We provide a 30 day warranty on our workmanship. This covers cable connections and mounting.
  • Exclusions: Warranty is void if the equipment is tampered with by third parties, damaged by power surges (lightning), or subjected to physical abuse.

4. System Access & Privacy

  • Data Privacy: Once the system is installed, the client is solely responsible for password management. For security reasons, we do not keep a record of client passwords unless a maintenance contract is in place.
  • Local Laws: It is the client's responsibility to ensure that camera placement complies with local privacy laws (e.g., not recording public spaces or neighbors’ private property).

5. Connectivity & Remote Viewing

  • Third-Party Services: We are not responsible for the failure of remote viewing caused by Internet Service Provider (ISP) outages, router resets, or smartphone software updates.
  • Re-configuration: If a client changes their router or ISP after the initial setup, a service fee will be charged to re-configure the remote viewing settings.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • Non-Guarantee of Prevention: A surveillance system is a deterrent, not a guarantee against theft or illegal activity. OCS is not liable for any losses, damages, or failure to capture specific events on video.
  • Storage Limits: We provide storage estimates based on typical settings. Actual recording duration may vary based on motion frequency and image complexity.
